Something for the Dads

In a time like now, we look at the vast amount of tools made for mothers and they put the dad options to shame. However, a few companies are out to close this gap. Mom or dad, the diaper bag is a tool that parents that they cannot go without. It makes sense that a dad utilizing a diaper bag that is reliable, durable, comfortable and is worthy of pride, will ultimately gain confidence as a key player in their child’s life.

As a relatively new father myself, I have seen many advertisements for a diaper bag that met these criteria. I have used the Tactical Baby Gear Deuce 1.0 Tactical Diaper Bag Combo Set for about 5 months now and have loved it, but I was curious of what their newer diaper bags offered.

As soon as the bag arrived I pulled out the over-the-shoulder, tailored for diaper duty, TBG Deuce 2.0 Tactical Diaper Bag Combo Set. The first noticeable features were the cool military look of the 600D polyester design and the MOLLE tactical gear attachment system.

The bag features three front pockets for smaller accessories but it actually holds more than just small accessories. Those pockets are quite roomy. On the left side of the bag, there is a pull out dump pouch for dirty diapers on the go while on the opposite side hangs a thermal lined bottle pouch, both of which are sizable.

Diving in deeper, the bag boasts a very sizable interior pocket with adjustable dividers for organization and a cross-hair drop zone changing pad for dads on the go. There’s also a slim pocket on the inside advertised as a padded tablet compartment.

The shoulder bag comes with a fairly comfortable shoulder strap, however, the strap has plastic hardware. This could make it susceptible to damage.

The outside of the bag also has areas to attach Velcro patches of various sizes. TBG sells different Velcro patches to appeal to all dads.  Because the bag comes with the MOLLE webbing, the bag can be highly customized as your needs change with the growing baby.

I have worn my bag out for several outings with my son & found it more than useful. I don’t have any complaints. This bag definitely commands pride and sets itself apart from the average diaper bag. Bottom line, I actually enjoy carrying it around and I am not afraid to sling it, “ding” it, and slide it around on the ground.
