Lowe’s has brought back the Build N Grow DIY Kids Workshops. First one locally was a Valentine’s Day card holder held on February 8th. It will be the 2nd Saturday each month, to not conflict with Home Depot’s 1st Saturday kids workshop. Check your local Lowe’s to see if they are participating. The local stores in Glen Burnie and Columbia are hosting them.
How was the first one?
A few dads went and checked it out this month. Here are some of their takeaways:
- The projects are much more simple. The holes are pre-drilled, so it goes much quicker than the Home Depot projects. This also made it better for younger children.
- Sign ups are encouraged because allegedly each store will be limited to 75 kits
- The kids will get aprons to keep. Tools are provided, but it’s a good opportunity to teach your kids to care for their own tools. Check out our recent article: Teaching my kids about tools.
Thanks to all the dads that chimed in on the Facebook Group to crowd source this info. Rob, thanks for pointing it out and reviews and images from Joe, Shawn & Steve.
We’ll see you all out at the next one March 14th, register before it fills up.
